About The Site

I don’t see dead people. I grew up with them. Yep, that’s right. Pull up a chair, pour a cup of Joe, and learn how a slightly whacked, undertaker’s daughter, aging hippie chick, and single mom of a “special needs” (hate that term) child, attempts to make sense of the nonsense that passes for life. I’ve been a non-conformist for most of my life, so what you find here is difficult to put in a box. There’s a little bit of this, a little bit of that, and more of the same, in-between.

Being a child of the sixties, I came of age when this country was being turned on its head. Remnants of my “liberalism” still lurk somewhere under the surface, but since I believe a person is shaped by so much more than his/her past, I can’t be put in a box any more than what you’ll find on this site. I love to share snippets of my experiences, which reflect my Cherokee and English ancestry, a proud mountain heritage, and the lovely and whacky characters God blessed me with for family. Also, on here, you will find recipes, poetry, my thoughts on just about any current or non-current topic, history, and even an occasional short story. My goals are simple: celebrate life, find the humor in the madness, gain a little wisdom, and grow into someone better today than I was yesterday. Welcome all! I invite you to leave comments, share your thoughts, and visit me often. After all, life is truly groovy, so let’s rock!

Lots and lots going on, but I shall return sooner than soon, and I’m thrilled somebody noticed my absence!
