Lost And Found

Her saucy blue eyes
Her tumbling dark mane
Her winsome smile hide the pain
Of the little lost girl inside, seeking to belong

Her days are filled with drying tears
Cleaning messes
Fighting fears
She dare not name
Of going back to that dark place
Where no one tended her soul

With quirky humor and sassy wit
She wipes their noses,  fills their needs
And they take her gifts, while she bleeds
Inside, where it’s black and no one sees

Herself,  her heart,  she serves to them
The desire to flee only a whim
For in this she knows she’s found that place
She needed so when she was cold
